The Devil's Spine - A Numenera Supplement

The end of August saw Monte Cook Games new RPG Numenera hit retail stores after a very successful Kickstarter campaign. October will see the release of The Devil's Spine, an adventure campaign book for Numenera.

The Devil's Spine was originally conceived as three separate adventures that were stretch goals for the Kickstarter. However, it has now evolved into a 96-page full color softcover book with three distinct adventures. The adventures can be run individually or together in any order as part of a mini campaign. Even if you are not interested in the three adventures, The Devil's Spine also introduces new Ninth World territories that are not covered in the core rulebook, as well as new creatures, characters and items. The suggested retail price is $24.99.  ICv2 summarized the supplement as follows:

"The story revolves around the terrifying Devil's Spine graft which will claim a character's life. If it is removed, the characters will be sent to the Mechanized Tomb, into a web of Viral Transmissions, into uncharted territory when they go Beyond the Maelstrom."

If you are in Puerto Rico, Bad DM recommends you contact The Gaming Pit, Guaynabo, where you can buy both the Numenera RPG: Core Book, Numenera RPG: Players Guide, as well as preorder Numenera RPG: The Devil's Spine. Reserve yours now.

Thunderstone Advance - Numenera

Monte Cook's Numenera comes to Thunderstone Advance!
Game description from the publisher:

The ancient evil known as Doom has decided to make a change. In this new world of Numenera, Doom has manifested as an intelligent virus that controls its hosts. The infected are known as "Doomladen" and they know each other regardless of a host's external form. They are lead by powerful beings with strange relics – the Thunderstones – and once again you must defeat them to save the world.

In the deck-building game Thunderstone Advance: Numenera, which can be played on its own or combined with other Thunderstone sets, you build a party of heroes to defeat the Thunderstone Bearers. The "Doomladen" mechanism introduced in this game unites various monster groups against you, and new Setting cards take you into the environment of Monte Cook's Numenera RPG.

If you are in Puerto Rico, you can reserve/preorder your copy of Thunderstone Advance: Numenera from The Gaming Pit, in Guaynabo, or Paladin Books & Games, in Isabela.

Minis For Monte Cook's Numenera

Monte Cook's successful Kickstarter project Numenera roleplaying game keeps expanding. Having already announced an upcoming computer game set in the Numenera world, Monte Cook Games, LLC and Reaper Miniatures announced plans for an August release of a box set of miniatures for the Numenera RPG. A limited release will also be available at Gen Con.

The sculpts for the miniatures were taken directly from the Numenera artwork by Kieran Yanner, Jason Engle, Scott Purdy, and others. The set will consist of ten miniatures of characters and creatures featured in the Numenera books.

The release of the miniatures set will coincide with the release of the Numenera core book, the Numenera Player's Guide, and several other products, on August 14, 2013.
