Lords of Waterdeep Q&A: Heroes' Garden

If you're familiar with the game Lords of Waterdeep, or if you read our latest blog post, you know that in a round a player's action is limited to assigning one agent and to completing one quest.  During our game last Sunday, a player bought the Heroes' Garden building.  When an agent is assigned to this building, the player takes a quest from Cliffwatch Inn.  If he can complete that quest right then and there, he gets the quest's rewards plus an additional four victory points.

The following question arose, if the player immediately completes that quest, is that his quest for the round or can he still do another quest?  If the answer is yes, then the player will have done two quests in that round.  However, this would breach the '1 agent assignment, 1 quest per round'  rule.  Fortunately, Peter Lee, one of the game designers, frequents the BoardgameGeek.com website and he recently answered this same question, as follows:

You can complete two quests on the turn you assign an Agent to Heroes' Garden. Obviously, one of those quests must be the one you drew from the building.

[...]

The extra quest must be the quest taken from the heroes' garden. (It also needs to be the first quest completed that turn as it's done while you Assign the Agent: see page 8 for in the rulebook, and page 10 for clarification that you complete quests after assigning agents. This is one of the rare chances to complete a quest in both parts of your turn.)
There you have it.  If you have the resources, go hit Heroes' Garden and take advantage of the opportunity to do 2 quests in one round.
