About Bad DM

My introduction to Dungeons and Dragons came in 1980.  My uncle was staying with us for a week and he brought this blue box that had a dragon resting comfortably on a mountain of gold coins and related loot.  In the foreground, a group of adventurers prepared themselves for the fight.  The box did not bring dice.  Instead it brought cardboard chits numbered pursuant to the dice they were representing.  We would throw the chits into a cup, randomly draw one and that was our 1d20.

Sometime in high school, I discovered Advanced Dungeons and Dragons and later Dragon Magazine.  I was hooked.  Later on, when I came upon modules G1-G3, D1-D3 and Q1, my fate as an rpg gamer was sealed.  However, sometime during college in the late 80s, my gaming group dispersed and I stopped playing.  It wouldn't be until 2009 that I would return to gaming.  Thanks to this hobby and to PR Role Players I've gotten in touch with friends I hadn't talked to in decades, made new friends and am now taking part in two different campaigns that run almost weekly.

This website is my attempt to give back to the gaming community.  I'll be posting about our weekly games, industry developments, product releases, software, my experiences both as a player and DM and anything else that might be related.  I hope this will become a joint effort, where you will comment, criticize and contribute, and in so doing make the blog a source of thoughtful relevance to the rpg community.

We would love to hear from you.  Share your opinion about our site by either commenting on our blog entries or by private email to this email address.
